This delightful musical is what happens when you combine Elvis Presley songs with a Shakespearean plot peopled with 50s motorcycle-riding, blue-suede-shoe-wearing, guitar-playing characters.
It’s summertime in a small town in the American Midwest. Most of the townsfolk are either pining away for someone with whom they cannot connect, or nursing an old broken heart. Natalie, a tomboy who is the local mechanic, is the exception. Even though she doesn’t want to abandon her widowed father, she knows she cannot find the life she wants in this small town, and dreams of hitting the road. Chad, a rock-n’-roll loving charismatic rebel, rides into town on a motorcycle. As Natalie repairs Chad’s bike, she devises a plan that will allow her to leave with him. And during the 24 hours that follow, Chad with his guitar in hand, changes the town and its dreamers, including Natalie, even including himself, forever.
Elvis wrote the music and/or lyrics to some of the songs, and sang all of them. Come hear a show made up of pop hits. Share them with a new generation.
