AUDIENCE SERVICES MANAGER

Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT) is in search of a full time/exempt Audience Services Manager.

The Audience Services Manager position is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Executive leadership of MSMT. They shall perform all Box Office functions for the organization and also frequently performs shared duties outside of the Box Office, including some areas of marketing, communications and development. The Audience Services Manager works in consultation with the Managing Director, Artistic Director, Development Director, and Director of Marketing and Communications.

ABOUT MSMT

The mission of MSMT is to produce musical theatre, provide exceptional training through our Educational Fellowship Program and use theatre to enrich, engage and provide live entertainment to the State of Maine and beyond. MSMT brings “Broadway to Brunswick”.

Responsibilities for this position shall include the following:

AUDIENCE SERVICES MANAGER

  • Build each season shows, concerts and TYA productions
  • Pricing
  • Allocation
  • Seating placement
  • Adapting and adjusting for different venues
    Sell year-round season subscriptions and renewals of existing subscriptions
    Print, split, and mail all season subscription tickets/packets for 8,000 subscribers
  • Create all subscriber information packets
  • Roll over all previous year’s subscribers into the next year’s series
  • Renew Subscribers
  • Track subscriber upgrades requests and fulfill whenever able
  • Contact all subscribers by mail, email and phone who haven’t renewed before early same seat renewal deadlines
  • Create and file all subscriber paperwork
  • Sell individual tickets for all shows
  • Print and distribute all “will call” tickets at each performance
  • Assist all patrons a with ticket exchanges and seating issues
  • Run all shows during the season as Manager on Duty
  • Scan all show tickets for reporting purposes and create and send reports to the financial department
  • Hire and supervise and train a Box Office Staff of 10 during the season
  • Supervise House Manager and Patron Transportation Staff
  • Sell and mail all gift certificates and gift subscription notices
  • Cash out daily box office reports
  • Deposit all Box Office cash/check transitions
  • Communicate all box office transaction to the finance department daily, monthly, and yearly
  • Liaison between the patrons and the annual staff

QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, non-profit management, or related field or experience
  • Minimum three years of Box Office and/or Customer Service experience in a management role
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Superior communication skills
  • Expert attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional Customer service skills
  • A proactive and professional attitude
  • Excellent computer/technology skills, especially in Word and Excel. Knowledge of Patron Manager or other ticketing software a plus
  • Ability to manage a budget
  • Must be available to work Nights and weekends, especially during the summer season. Some events could be off-site, a drivers’ license is required
  • Experience in an arts and/or arts education environment a plus
