ABOUT THE ARTISTS
E. Faye Butler’s entertainment career spans over 39 years. She is an actress-singer with an extraordinary gift for capturing an audience in the palms of her hands. Ms. Butler performs in theaters, concert halls, nightclubs and cabarets. Her catalogue of theater performances includes Goodman Theatre, Arena Stage, Victory Gardens, Northlight Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse, Yale Repertory Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, Congo Square, Marriott’s Lincolnshire Theatre, Court Theater, Baltimore’s Center Stage and Maine State Music Theatre (in 2016’s Ghost the Musical, 2018’s Best of MSMT Concert, and 2019’s Sophisticated Ladies).
A multiple award-winning performer, Ms. Butler has garnered honors that include six Joseph Jefferson Awards, two Helen Hayes Awards, R.A.M.I. Award, John Barrymore Award, Ovation Award, Sarah Siddons Leading Lady Award, After Dark Award, Excellence in the Arts, four Black Theatre Alliance Awards, Lunt-Fontaine Fellowship, Kathryn V. Lampkey Award, Rosetta LeNoire Award, The Guy Adkins Award for the Advancement of Music Theatre in Chicago and induction into the Women in the Arts Museum in Washington, D.C.
Felicia P. Fields, Broadway actress and Tony-Award nominee for her role of Sofia in the musical The Color Purple, she also earned a 2006 Theatre World Award, Clarence Derwent Award, an NAACP Image Award nomination, two Broadway.com Awards, a Denver Post Ovation Award and was a Drama League honoree while reprising the role that Oprah Winfrey created in the film version of the same name. Ms. Fields has received a Black Theatre Alliance Award and nominations, many Jeff Award nominations and the award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in Sophisticated Ladies.
Ms. Fields has a string of Goodman Theatre productions to her credit, including Crowns, The Rose Tattoo, The Amen Corner, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and A Christmas Carol. She has also performed in numerous productions at Marriott Theatre Lincolnshire, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, Theatre at the Center, Apple Tree Theatre and has performed throughout the country in the musical Low Down Dirty Blues. Her on-camera, television and film credits include “Sense 8,” “Who Gets the Dog” (with Alicia Silverstone), “Chicago Fire,” and “Kingfisher” (with Chance the Rapper), “Early Edition,” “Save the Last Dance,” “The Knights of Prosperity” and numerous commercials and voice-overs.
