STAGE OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

  • Position(s): 1
  • Dates: Tues May 16 – Mon August 28
  • Pay: $900.00 a week, salaried position
  • Housing: Shared housing provided.  Housing has basic furnishings, is collegiate style, with possible shared bedrooms
  • Travel: Not provided
  • Location: Brunswick, ME

Primary Responsibilities

Essential functions include (but are not limited to):

  • Supervise a staff of 5
  • Work run crew for every main stage performance
  • Work run crew for TYA performances and Concerts as assigned
  • Operate rigging systems and related equipment
  • Running automation and theatrical effects
  • Create all run-crew tracks, duties, and schedules
  • Complete pre-show and post show duties which include cleaning the stage and backstage; setting up and striking props; resetting scenery
  • Maintain and repair all scenery, set pieces, and properties
  • Map out movement of scenic elements with the Stage Manager and Technical Director
  • Coordinate with stage management to create crew schedules for each production
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals, maintenance, and evening show performances.
  • Coordinate with the TD for load-in/strike/load-out
  • Work in the scene shop 1 day a week and as assigned by the Director of Production under the supervision of the TD
  • Attend/assist with all run-throughs, backstage prep, all technical rehearsals, performances, load ins, and strikes as scheduled
  • Maintain budgets
  • Attend all production meetings
  • Participate in MSMT events as needed and/or required
  • Adhere to all MSMT policies and procedures including Covid 19 Guidelines & Safety protocols
  • Drive MSMT vehicles and box trucks
  • Motivate with a positive and respectful attitude
  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful working environment
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Production and MSMT Annual Staff

Qualifications

The following skills and experience are required:

  • Advanced experience working backstage run crews
  • Excellent knowledge and skills working with counterweight rigging systems, live entertainment rigging practices, and stage automation
  • Trained in the safe operation of stationary and portable power tools and hand tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other applicable software
  • Able to manage teams and foster both team and individual growth among employees
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, energized, and quickly changing environment
  • Able to work independently and as a team player
  • Detail oriented; able to prioritize efficiently and multi-task
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Car preferred but not required
  • Must be fully vaccinated and boosted from the Covid-19 virus

 

 

DECK CHIEF

  • Position(s): 1

  • Pay: $825.00 a week, salaried position
  • Housing: Shared housing provided.  Housing has basic furnishings, is collegiate style, with shared                                                         bedrooms
  • Travel: Not provided
  • Location: Brunswick, ME

Primary Responsibilities

Essential functions include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist the Stage Operations Supervisor with the day-to-day operations of stage operations
  • Assist supervising a staff of 4
  • Work run crew for every main stage performance
  • Work run crew for TYA performances and Concerts as assigned
  • Organize and maintain backstage spaces
  • Complete pre-show and post show duties which include cleaning the stage and backstage; setting up and striking props; resetting scenery
  • Complete daily inspections of stage equipment
  • Assist with the rigging/setup/operating of moving set pieces, automation, and related equipment
  • Run automation and theatrical effects as assigned
  • Communicate and coordinate with technical departments
  • Assist creating run-crew tracks, duties, and schedules
  • Maintain and repair all scenery, set pieces, and properties
  • Responsible for maintaining stock of stage consumables
  • Assist mapping out movement of scenic elements with the Stage Manager and Technical Director
  • Assist coordinating with stage management to create crew schedules for each production

Primary Responsibilities

Essential functions include (but are not limited to):

  • Work run crew for every main stage performance
  • Work run crew for TYA performances and Concerts as assigned
  • Oversee and implement all rigging in coordination with the TD and Stage Operations Supervisor
  • Assist with the rigging/setup/operating of moving set pieces, automation, and related equipment
  • Lead fly operator for all MSMT productions
  • Train and supervise staff with operating a counterweight LS system and industry rigging practices
  • Organize and maintain backstage spaces
  • Complete pre-show and post show duties which include cleaning the stage and backstage; setting up and striking props; resetting scenery
  • Complete daily inspections of stage equipment
  • Run automation and theatrical effects as assigned
  • Communicate and coordinate with technical departments
  • Maintain and repair all scenery, set pieces, and properties

  • Pay: $15.00 an hour, hourly position
  • Housing: Shared housing shall be provided for a fee of $75.00 a week.  The housing fee shall be deducted weekly from the employee’s paycheck.  Housing has basic furnishings, is collegiate style, with shared bedrooms
  • Travel: Not provided
  • Location: Brunswick, ME
