WIGS/MAKEUP SUPERVISOR

  • Position(s): 1
  • Dates: Tues May 16 – Mon August 28
  • Pay: $900.00 a week, salaried position
  • Housing: Shared housing provided.  Housing has basic furnishings, is collegiate style, with possible shared bedrooms
  • Travel: Not provided
  • Location: Brunswick, ME

Primary Responsibilities

Essential functions include (but are not limited to):

  • Supervise a staff of 1
  • Wigs/makeup run crew for each show as needed
  • Construct and maintain all wigs, facial hair, and prosthetics
  • Re-style and re-set wigs
  • Organize and execute the load in of wigs for each production
  • Organize and setup works areas in dressing rooms, backstage, and other locations as needed
  • Assist with the costume load-in and strike for each show
  • Assist performers applying show makeup and wigs for all performances and tech/dress rehearsals
  • Communicate with other departments in regard to wigs and makeup
  • Strike, clean, repair, restock and ship out wigs at the end of each production run
  • Work wardrobe run crew for each show as needed
  • Work wardrobe run crew for TYA performances and Concerts as needed
  • Work in the costume shop as assigned under the supervision of the Costume Shop Manager
  • Attend/assist with all run-throughs, backstage prep, all technical rehearsals, performances, load ins, and strikes as scheduled
  • Maintain budgets
  • Attend all production meetings
  • Participate in MSMT events as needed and/or required
  • Adhere to all MSMT policies and procedures including Covid 19 Guidelines & Safety protocols
  • Drive MSMT vehicles and box trucks
  • Motivate with a positive and respectful attitude
  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful working environment
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Production and MSMT Annual Staff

Qualifications

The following skills and experience are required:

  • Experience with wardrobe and costume practices applicable to large scale musical theatre productions
  • Superior skills with setting, styling, cleaning, and putting wigs and hairpieces on actors; applying theatrical makeup, conventional makeup, and prosthetics
  • Skilled building and fronting wigs
  • Familiarity with the diverse range of hairstyles and hair needs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other applicable software
  • Able to manage teams and foster both team and individual growth among employees
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, energized, and quickly changing environment
  • Able to work independently and as a team player
  • Detail oriented; able to prioritize efficiently and multi-task
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Car preferred but not required
  • Must be fully vaccinated and boosted from the Covid-19 virus

 

 

ASSISTANT WIGS/MAKEUP SUPERVISOR

  • Dates: Tues May 23 – Sun August 27
  • Pay: $825.00 a week, salaried position
  • Housing: Shared housing provided.  Housing has basic furnishings, is collegiate style, with shared bedrooms
  • Travel: Not provided
  • Location: Brunswick, ME

Primary Responsibilities

Essential functions include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist the Wigs/Makeup Supervisor in day-to-day operations of the Wigs department
  • Wigs/makeup run crew for each show as needed
  • Construct and maintain all wigs, facial hair, and prosthetics

  • Assist with the load in of wigs for each production
  • Assist setting up works areas in dressing rooms, backstage, and other locations as needed
